Getting Started
Do I need to create an account to use Scoff?
No. Scoff doesn't require sign-up or a login — your food diary, goals and saved meals are stored locally on your device from the moment you open the app.
Does Scoff work without an internet connection?
Your diary, goals and saved meals are all stored on your device, so you can view and log against them offline. Searching for new foods, scanning barcodes and browsing restaurant menus need an internet connection to look things up.
Premium
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free gets you barcode scanning, food search, daily calorie and macro tracking, custom goals and reminders, and up to 3 saved meals. Premium adds unlimited saved meals, extended nutrition breakdowns (saturated fat, sugar, fibre and sodium), logging directly from restaurant menus, weekly charts and insights, extra custom meal slots, and Instagram story sharing.
How much does Premium cost?
$4.99/month or $39.99/year (a 33% saving), with a 14-day free trial on either plan. Prices are in AUD and billed through the App Store.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Scoff Premium is billed through the App Store, so subscriptions are managed there: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, use "Restore purchases" on the Premium screen to reconnect an existing subscription.
Food & Restaurants
Which restaurants can I log meals from?
Scoff currently has menus for Guzman y Gomez, Grill'd, Roll'd, Subway and Yo-Chi, with more Australian chains being added over time. Browsing menus is free; logging an item directly from a menu is a Premium feature.
Where does Scoff's food data come from?
Search results are pulled from Open Food Facts (an open-source food database) and NUTTAB (Australian food composition data), plus foods added by other Scoff users. Free accounts see up to 2 community-submitted results per search; Premium unlocks the full community database.
I created a custom food — is it shared with other users?
Yes — the food's name, brand and nutrition info are added to a shared community database so other users can find and log it too. This doesn't include your name, email or any other personal details. Your diary entries, weight data and other personal logs are never shared. If you'd like a food you created removed from the community database, contact us at hello@scoffapp.com.au.
Your Data
Where is my data stored?
Your food logs, calorie goals and macro targets are stored locally on your device. Camera access is used only for barcode scanning and meal photos — no images are stored or transmitted externally. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device. If you've submitted a custom food to the community database and want it removed, or have any other data request, email hello@scoffapp.com.au.
